The HNC and HND in Information Technology are up-to-date IT awards that reflect recent developments and enable students to gain skills that are in demand in the workplace as well as offering progression routes to further study in Information Technology and related disciplines. The HNC in Information Technology consists of 12 credits as follows:

  • IT in Business: Introduction (1 credit)
  • IT in Business — Databases (1 credit)
  • IT in Business — Spreadsheets (1 credit)
  • Working within a Project Team (1 credit)
  • Software Development: Applications Development(2 credits)
  • Database Design Fundamentals (1 credit)
  • PC: First Line Support (1 credit)
  • Information Technology: Graded Unit 1 (1 credit)
  • e-commerce: Introduction (1 credit)
  • e-commerce: Publishing Websites (2 credits)

The HND in Information Technology consists of the units already completed in the HNC plus a further 18 credits as follows:

  • Functional Areas of Business (1 credit)
  • Internet: Web Technology and Security (2 credits)
  • SQL: Introduction (1 credit)
